Yucatecan Ceviche

Serves 4 as an appetizer

Delicious seafood is one of the best things to eat in the Riviera Maya and when it is super fresh, no cooking is required.


  • White Fish 150 g, diced
  • Raw Shrimp 150 g, chopped
  • Roma Tomatoes 3, diced
  • Red Onion 1/2, diced
  • Cucumber peeled, seeded & chopped, ½ cup
  • Serrano Chiles 3, deseeded & finely chopped
  • Fresh Cilantro Leaves and Stems chopped, 1 cup
  • Limes 2-3, juiced
  • Orange 1, juiced
  • Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Olive Oil 3 tsp
  • Avocado 1, sliced

Make It

  1. Place the diced fish and shrimp in a non-reactive bowl. Add the diced tomatoes, cucumber, cilantro, chile and red onion.
  2. Pour the citrus juices over the mixture and stir gently to combine. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with slices of avocado.
  4. Serve immediately.
