Ingredients
- Fresh Peaches 2 lbs, peeled and halved
- All-Purpose Flour 1 ½ cups
- Baking Powder 2 tsp
- Salt ½ tsp
- Nutmeg a pinch
- Cardamom Powder ½ tsp
- Ginger Powder ½ tsp
- Butter ¼ cup
- White Sugar 1 cup
- Egg 1 large
- Milk ½ cup
- Powdered Sugar for dusting
Cook It
- Preheat the oven to 350ËšF and generously butter a 3-quart baking dish.
- Whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder and spices.
- In a stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Reduce the speed and beat in the egg and then the milk.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until blended.
- Scrape the batter into the baking dish and arrange the peach halves on top.
- Bake for 40 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean.
- Â Alllow to cool for 15-20 minutes then dust with powdered sugar and serve.
