Halekulani’s Famous Popovers

At Halekulani Hotel, the breakfast popovers have been served for over a hundred years. The legendary treats are served with Poha Berry (a type of orange gooseberry) jam.


  • All-Purpose Flour 2 cups, sifted
  • Eggs 6
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Milk 2 cups
  • Butter and Jam for serving

Cook It

  1. Preheat the oven to 450˚F.
  2. Oil a six-cup muffin pan and place in the oven to preheat.
  3. Whisk together the eggs and milk.
  4. Add the flour and salt and beat in slowly.
  5. Pour the batter into the hot muffin pan and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Serve the popovers warm with butter and jam.
