Java Jive
The owner is from down under which explains the Aussie flag outside Savannah Coffee Roasters. It’s a vault-like vintage space with a roaster in back and café tables up front. Nothing beats an iced cold-brew coffee and a blast of air conditioning on a blistering hot day in downtown Savannah.
Fine Fare
Vic’s on the River is an oasis of elegance on the otherwise touristy Savannah waterfront strip. Four floors of an historic warehouse have been restored, with the top floor offering indoor and patio dining. Cuisine is elevated southern classic, with white tablecloth standards but no stuffy attitude. Shrimp and grits is a standout.
Dining Dockside
Tybee Island is Savannah’s beach getaway, with miles of white sand and a buzzing beach town. Away from the crowds, A-J’s Dockside is a laid-back seafood shack with a relaxing low country view, cold beer and super fresh seafood.

Savannah Bee Company is on a mission to save the American bee, encouraging schools to install hives and teaching kids about beekeeping and the benefits bees bring. Their downtown store offers honey and mead tastings and a full range of bee-derived and bee-themed products.

At famous River Street Sweets on the waterfront, see pecan pralines being made, popcorn toasting, cabinets brimming with saltwater taffy and fudge, ginormous rice crispy squares and everything else your sweet heart desires.
